What this tool does
This checker gives you a quick read on whether an Individual Voluntary Arrangement could be right for you, roughly what you might pay, and which other debt solutions could suit your situation better.
It is general guidance to help you understand your options, not financial advice or a formal IVA assessment.
When to use it
Use it if you are struggling with several debts and wondering whether an IVA is the answer, or if you want to compare an IVA against a Debt Relief Order, a Debt Management Plan, the Breathing Space scheme or bankruptcy before you speak to anyone.
How it works
You answer a few questions about how much you owe, how many creditors you have, your income and how much you could realistically pay each month. It then explains whether an IVA looks like a reasonable fit, the main pros and cons, and the alternatives worth considering. Nothing you enter is saved, and you do not need to give your name or email to use it. Whatever the result, always get free, regulated advice from StepChange or Citizens Advice before signing up to any debt solution.
Ask The IVA a question
Ask our editorial team a question and we will reply with our advice. Tell us as much about your situation as you can: the more detail you give, the more useful our answer can be.
You do not need to use your real name. Please do not include your full address, phone number, email address, or the names of other people. We may edit or remove identifying details for privacy and legal reasons.
